Embroided leaves for caps of "field" Jäger.
Jäger (read "yega") means "hunter" in German. German-speaking armies understand "Jäger" as infantry that has long-boled weapons and acts scattered (not entire front) (information from "Wörterbuch zur deutschen Militärgeschichte", Militärverlag, Berlin 1985). Germans had mountain, field Jäger and skiers during World War 2. This insignia is for field Jäger.
Jäger bears a metal leaves emblem on his cap and a similar one on his sleeve (BeVo design). Picture source is not stated.
