Gray fur is the longest and the most fluffy of all that we put on our parkas (and obviously the warmest).
Since December 2019, we use new gray fur in sizes I (small) and II (medium). The new fur has a name "blue fox", it's like sewn from pieces of different shades. If fur is important for you, specify in advance which fur is installed in the parka of your choice!
We also have (if you can choose it next to the Add to cart button) a parka with a hood from gray fur and the main "fur coat" from a raccoon. In the original parkas, it was completely normal: to put different fur in texture and color; the “fur coats” of the parkas were sewn from old fur products, including civilian ones. For military purposes they did not chase beauty and could collect one fur parka from different fur products.

The high-quality faux fur that stands on this park gives it the following benefits:
1) The parka can be washed with water! A parka with natural fur should never be wetted with water, otherwise the skin of the fur will harden and break. Our parkas can be washed even in a washing machine. It's important feature for reenactment, isn't it?
2) Artificial fur does not cause allergies and does not begin to shed hair with time. Natural fur in 2-3 years begins to "moult", why all the clothes under the parka is covered with a nap, which is difficult to clean. Artificial fur "lives" as long as the fabric of the top, allowing you to use an expensive jacket for more than a couple of years.
3) Natural fur would raise the price of the parka to $500. Therefore, we use fake fur, which looks the same, but allows you to save real money. Parka is not cheap anyway!
This parka of the 2nd model (with a middle-chest opening, a large hood and chest pockets with bow folds) is an own development of the Replika shop! This batch of parkas is sewn especially for us and from materials selected by us. It's sold nowhere else, although other copies can be found on the market (for example, cheaper ones have higher, narrower shoulder and, in general, awkward cut). During the development we studied a lot of photos, we also studied several copies in order not to repeat their mistakes.
Fur parka "Replika" is made of thick cotton fabric of Feldgrau (pale gray-green) colour. We also sell parka with another fur colour as far as special winter pants from the winter set. No-one besides us produces the suitable trousers for the parkas. We sold them separately. There are several reasons to buy a kit right away:
• Jacket size you wear — corresponding clothing size in Russian and international units. The parka is sewn taking into account that it is outerwear! No need to add "size for a sweater".
|Size of the parka||Bare chest girth, cm||Jacket size you wear||Shoulders of parka, cm||Back lenght of parka, cm||Chest/waist of parka, cm|
|I||112 - 122||46 - 50 (XS - M)||48||60||62 / 44|
|II||112 - 111||52 - 54 (L - XL)||54||65||68 / 51|
|III||112 - 122||56 - 60 (2XL - 4XL)||60||70||74 / 58|
If you do not understand the table and you need help, write or call to us, we will help you to find the size.
You can choose the size you need from those in the list near "Add to Cart" button. If we don't have any size, you won't find it there.
The SS fur parka was designed as a uniform for the polar regions, and there it was tested. The first model was shorter and had a hood of smaller volume. It differed in some minor details too. The new model (the longer one) appeared on the front in winter 1942/43. A lot of photos of SS soldiers in this uniform taken during the fighting for Kharkov, so 2nd model parkas often called "Kharkov parka".
After studying the experience of using the 2nd model parkas, the SS decided to make it with front completely open, with buttons from up to the bottom. This simplified the process of dressing and allowed to wear it open, in case a soldier was hot after active movements.
